The Travelling Workshop

The Travelling Workshop travel around the world with mobile recording equipment and organise workshops for children and young people. Each workshop is often affiliated with an institution or a NGO as intermediary contacts with the project's participants. Furthermore, they decide which theme or topic the participants must work with.

Project objective
The purpose of the Travelling Workshop is to touch upon and educate on important issues such as HIV/AIDS or democracy in a fun, creative and visual way. In this way you use animation as a way to express oneself but also as an information tool.

One of the many strengths of utilizing animation is that it can be used as a visual information tool to convey important messages to everyone, even those who cannot read. The objective is not only to give children a communication tool but also adults, as animation works across generations.

The topics are diverse as the instructors always take their starting point in the needs of the country or organisation. The Travelling Workshop has among others worked with topics such as environmental problems in China, dissemination of cultural myths in Bolivia and with children's rights involving a group of sexually abused children in the Philippines.

The whole World
The Travelling Workshop has worked with children, youngsters, and animation since 1988 and during this period of time, The Travelling Workshop has visited more than 250 institutions and schools all over Denmark, the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Greenland, Finland, Norway, Sweden and a lot of other countries. This way The Travelling Workshop has taught more than 7000 children.
